Annual report

The 2025 annual report provides information on the Dewender-Stiftung's tasks, projects, grants, sources of funds, and use of funds. It is based on the foundation’s official annual report.


A. About the foundation

The Dewender-Stiftung was founded in 2012 in Wachtendonk as an independent foundation under civil law by Norbert Dewender. Its purpose is to support young people, education, upbringing, training, art, culture, sport and civic engagement.

The foundation is supervised by the Düsseldorf district government and, according to the exemption notice for 2022–2024 dated 04/12/2025, is exempt from corporate and trade tax and is authorized to issue donation receipts.

B. Decision-makers / staff structure

Board: Norbert Dewender. The board consists of one person and works entirely on a voluntary basis. No other persons are active for the foundation.

C. Foundation assets

In 2025, the founder made an additional contribution of €508,264.95 to the endowment capital. The foundation’s total assets as of 31/12/2025 amount to €1,358,372.94.

D. Funding purposes

The foundation supports exclusively charitable purposes in the areas of education, upbringing, training, art and culture, sport and civic engagement.

In 2025, ten Deutschlandstipendium scholarships were awarded in STEM subjects:

  • RWTH Aachen (4 scholarships)
  • Hochschule Niederrhein Krefeld & Mönchengladbach (3 scholarships)
  • Hochschule Rhein-Waal Kleve & Kamp-Lintfort (3 scholarships)

Additional support was given to the independent secondary school We!tsicht and the Catholic daycare center St. Marien in Wachtendonk. For the Deutschlandstipendium, in addition to strong academic performance, voluntary engagement in sport art, and culture also played an important role.

E. Sources of funds

  • Securities income: €1,829.24
  • Interest income: €26,340.74
  • Reclassification gains from securities sales: €14,759.94

F. Use of funds (activity report)

In 2025, a total of €22,000 was used in accordance with the foundation’s statutes:

  • RWTH Aachen – education fund (4 scholarships)
  • Deutschlandstipendium Hochschule Niederrhein (3 scholarships)
  • Deutschlandstipendium Hochschule Rhein-Waal (3 scholarships)
  • Independent secondary school We!tsicht
  • Support association of KiTa St. Marien Wachtendonk

Administrative expenses

The Dewender-Stiftung is managed entirely on a voluntary basis and does not maintain its own office. Administrative costs arise only to the extent necessary for proper, legally compliant, and sustainable foundation activity.

G. Public relations

Current information about the foundation’s work is published regularly on the Dewender-Stiftung website. In addition, funding measures were reported in social media in 2025 (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn). At RWTH Aachen, the non-material framework program of the Deutschlandstipendium was supported with an amount of €200. A press release also led to coverage in the Rheinische Post in January 2026.

H. Current situation and outlook for 2026

For 2026, around €29,000 is available from carried-forward funds. Based on a sustainability analysis, a distribution of approximately €38,000 is expected, of which about €36,000 is earmarked for funding purposes.
