Deutschlandstipendium
Education is a key building block for a strong economy and a fair society. Since 2016 the Dewender-Stiftung has supported talented and committed students at several universities in the region through the Deutschlandstipendium (Germany Scholarship Programme), primarily in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and engineering (STEM). Since 2016, the Dewender Foundation has supported 50 students through the Deutschlandstipendium.
The Deutschlandstipendium is a German public‑private scholarship programme jointly supported by private sponsors and the federal government in order to promote young academic talent. The selection criteria include not only outstanding achievements at school and/or university, but also social commitment and the overcoming of particular biographical challenges. Applications must be submitted directly to the respective university.

In 2025, approximately 33,500 students received a Deutschlandstipendium, representing approximately 1.2% of all students in Germany. Since the programme began, private sponsors have contributed around €391 million. In 2025 alone, funding amounted to approximately €35 million. The programme is offered at 289 universities and supported by almost 8,900 private sponsors.
